Turn a day of baseball into a fight against Lou Gehrig's Disease.
To mark the 70th Anniversary of Lou Gehrig's farewell address The San Francisco Giants along with Major League Baseball are partnering to support ALS organizations to raise awareness about ALS. Proceeds from your ticket purchase on this day will directly benefit the ALS Association, ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALSTDI) and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.(MDA).

"4♦ALS Awareness" will culminate with Gehrig’s memorable and touching “Luckiest Man” speech being read at all Major League ballparks where games are played this July 4th. Whether you have plans to attend a game or watch one on TV, other activities to watch for will include all MLB players and many Minor League players wearing the “4♦ALS Awareness” patch on their uniforms, on-field presentations, and at the conclusion of the game, the players of each MLB home team will sign the first base bag (Lou’s position when he played for the Yankees) which will later be auctioned off by MLB to raise funds to support ALS research.
If you can't join us at the Giants game, you can still be a part of this historic initiative by signing up now to participate in The ALS Association’s Covering All the Bases® Hitting Challenge.(Your contribution will support ALS Association chapter patient services programs, research, advocacy, education and public awareness and you will have the opportunity to receive “thank you” gifts including a commemorative pin, baseball cap, T-shirt and a Lou Gehrig print by artist Jason Robichau based on your level of giving. |
